Volunteerism in Mensa has been discouraged by insufficient follow up and too many rejections. We need activities that appeal to a certain age group, as young people will not go to groups filled with old people In terms of volunteerism, it was noted that open ended commitments are the most difficult to fill and people do not always want to be part of a committee, and people resent being the chair of a committee. If you have activities that involve children K to 12, you must be careful who has access to them. Molestation charges are possible. Zoom parties were mentioned It was observed that many parents need access to better -12 educational curriculums. Testing K-12 for Mensa potential was mentioned. Doing it through buffer organizations such as National Honors Society was mentioned The question was raised whether we should market to K-12 or to college students. Again, we can market to K-12 through buffer organizations It was suggested that we develop “personas” for advertising. This is a technique used by marketing organizations.
